A cold day, but I had some time and decided to make this page, dedicated to the
performance car I will build based on the stock Fiero. Photos are taken, seats are
removed. The carpet doesn't look very good to me, clearly there was at least a
little water in the car at some point, but the bolts come off easily and it is clear that
there was very, very little. Later I will clean the carpet to see if I will be
replacing it or not.
First warm day in a while. I got all the consoles off and removed. Most of
the mounting points underneath the consoles, which are just threaded holes in plastic, are
completely destroyed (which caused a lot of the loose vibrations, now I realize.) It
also stinks to high heaven under the consoles. I pulled off some trim pieces and
stopped because I don't have a Torx bolt large enough to remove the seatbelts and I can't
get to everything I need for full carpet removal.
Looks like it might be worthwhile after all to replace the entire dashboard. PISA has a nice one, although I
understand it needs some fabrication.
